Our meeting on 21 January 2008 was well attended. We viewed images from Roy, Jenni, and Tracy, and South Island images from Mark & Annie.
Throughout 2008 we are going to make our 'focus' portrait photography, with a view to exhibitions in Helensville later in the year. There will be some practical sessions at most of our meetings in 2008, so bring your camera. We will have workshops on making a number of different types of people photos.
If you can make a good portrait/person photo, then you've probably mastered the craft, since the essential skills are exposure, lighting, focus, and composition.... the ingredients for every great photo.
Mark also wants to explore the way in which portrait photography facilitates relationship building with people. A seminar on that is in the pipeline.
It would be great to build image galleries for each member on this website. Please get to Mark a CD with all your best (and edited) images. There is no limit on the number of images (within reason)... quality is better than quantity.
